Thursday Social Pickleball (South Austin): 2.5 to 4.0
Play social pickleball at Austin’s most scenic courts, featuring a magnificent skyline backdrop! Join as an individual or with friends, and we’ll place you on a team of 8-12 players. You may request up to 2 teammates (groups larger than 4 must split up). In our team-based social pickleball format, you will score points for your team, but you might not be playing with the same partner every week. In Weeks 1-3, you’ll play with your teammates. In later weeks, you will be assigned to a group of 4 players with similar skill ratings, and you’ll play three doubles matches, rotating partners each game. Following matches at 8:30 each league night, join other players for post-pickle social hour at the league-designated partner restaurant/bar (Hopdoddy on South Congress), where you’ll get 10% off food & drinks, as long as you wear league shirt!
Your league fee includes:
- 8 weeks of team-based doubles match-play starting June 5 (May 29 is open play)
- An MLP-style team format during Championship Week
- A league shirt and chances to win swag/giveaways
- 10% off food & drinks at Hopdoddy social hour after tennis*
- Invite to end-of-season party 🎉 at a local beer garden, with a free drink ticket for RSVPs, light appetizers, and prizes.
- Outdoor pickleballs and nets will be provided for weekly matches and open play, but you must bring your own paddle
Court Usage Rules: we have reserved 6 pickleball courts at TxSfD for the Thursday South leagues. 5 of the reserved courts will be used for rotating matches. There will be one open-play/challenger court where players who are not playing may paddle stack. Once teams finish all 3 matches in their waves, any open courts will be available for open play/hitting around until the end of the wave. Texas School for the Deaf is a private facility, so players may not access the facility outside of league nights or times.
Performance Sleeveless/Tank Upgrade: We will offer a performance sleeveless option for males and performance tank option for females. These will be custom-ordered with a $5 surcharge if you select that option during early-bird registration. Orders after May 11 will default to the tri-blend t-shirts.

Court Location: Texas School for the Deaf Courts at 300 Elizabeth St, Austin, TX
Thurs League Dates: 6:15-8:30PM on May 29 (open play), June 5, 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug 7 (rain date)
2 hour-long waves of rotating matches (social-intermediate at 6:30, intermediate-advanced at 7:30)

You are entitled to a full refund, less transaction fees, if you notify info@austinsocialtennis.com that you decide to cancel BEFORE the regular registration deadline above. No refunds will be allowed after the late registration deadline.
