UT Whitaker Tennis Courts – Regulations
Facility Rules:
- Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and firearms are strictly forbidden on facility grounds. If you bring any of these items into the facility, your league registration will be forfeited immediately without refund and you will be banned from participating in any future Austin Social Tennis leagues.
- Pets are not allowed. You’ll be forced to leave them outside the gates by the parking lot
, so leave your furry friends at home. - Restrict usage of the facility to the dates and times that we have reserved for your social league. UT Whitaker is a private facility that is open only to UT students, faculty, and partners. Austin Social Tennis is able to reserve courts at the facility due to an existing partnership. We will inform you of the courts we have reserved for league matches. Players are NOT permitted to use empty courts that are not reserved or use the courts outside of the hours that the league has reserved courts, unless you have a RecSports membership and have reserved that court separately. If you are unsure which courts we are on, you may also ask the person at the front desk.
- Guests are allowed to come and watch but are not permitted to play or hit around on the courts due to liability reasons. Under no conditions may a substitute player who is not registered in the league fill in for a registered player. If a league player is found bringing a non-league participant to play in matches, that player may be removed from the league immediately and prohibited from registering in future Austin Social Tennis leagues.
Parking Rules:
- The parking lot next to the UT Whitaker Tennis Courts is a private UT lot. UT RecSports no longer gives out daily parking passes for league players, so players will be required to pay to use the parking lot, unless they have a permit directly from UT. There is free street parking available in the neighborhood across 51st St.
- UT Whitaker is a private facility, so participants will not have access to the courts outside of these reservation times, unless they have a student/faculty pass.
- League participants should NOT contact UT RecSports directly with issues/concerns. All communications must be directed through info@austinsocialtennis.com and our liaison with UT RecSports, to avoid flooding their inbox.
